I am at the end of my current playthrough and so I decided to add and play three new mods:. Xander's Aid.
Operation Manhattan. BarrenwoodThese were all enjoyable quest mods that were solvable (Barrenwood was on the hard side in parts). Operation Manhattan was short and with a ton of challenging combat, Xander's Aid was a huge undertaking, comparable to Fusion City Rising.
Mods like that need to be run up the flagpole and saluted.Best of all, these three mods were rock solid stable. Not a crash in the bunch.They will be welcome in my stable of golden mods, such as Outcasts and Remnants, Tales from the Commonwealth, Fusion City Rising, and Heather Casdin.
In my last game, I enjoyed 50 Ways to Die at Dr. Nicks, and The Code.
A lot of work went into them.Outcasts and Remnants is a simply stunning mod. Fusion City is one of those Tour de force mods. Tales from the Commonwealth blends so well with the main game that the only clues you are playing a mod are that the writing is more clever and the voice actors are better. Plus Tales from the Commonwealth offers Companions comparable to Heather Casdin - that mod has set the bar to which all future companion mods in Fallout 4 need to aspire. You would sort of figure that might be the case since the Heather author is the same one for Willow, the most popular character in Fallout New Vegas.I have a few additions to my next playthrough, such as Operation Wilkes Estate, Atlas Summit Redux, and The Secret of Huntress Manor. Think I will bring back Ellen the Cartographer too.Before I quit this game I think I will give Egrets Secret a try,How about you? Any good mods you could share to help your fellow mod players know what's available?.
I think you've covered any suggestions that I'd have. Except maybe 'NPCs Travel', which I installed recently and so far is working out really well. The area around Diamond City was a downright war zone yesterday. And I've encountered a nice variety of friendly NPCs too. You can configure how many patrols to spawn, so it's nicely tailorable to your own tastes.Also, and this might sound kind of silly but, since I know you use R4-04, my game actually got a breath of fresh air yesterday when I decided to figure out how to give R4-04 ponytail dreads from the Azar's Ponytails mod. It turned out to be a relatively easy task in F04Edit and she's been freakin' reborn!
An absolutely perfect look for her, imo. Well, you certainly listed a few mods I was unaware of. Looking forward to digging into those.Always on the lookout for some nice quest mods. Unfortunate that so many of them involve sooo much terminal reading.That aside, I don't know about Heather. I mean, yes, her functionality blows the rest of the base game and mod companions out of the water.She's just so useful.And even her personality is leagues more complex than any other modded companion, as well as a few ofthe base game companions. You really get a nice sense of her changing as you get to know her, which is just darn good stuff.But she just doesn't do it for me. It may just be that her voice sounds as if someone got their mom to read the lines.
Or the fact that, like so many other modded companions, I just can't relate to her.That's something the base game companions excel at, actually. Relateability.That one modded companion, though. The ghoul woman? She has the most winning personality, for sure. Relateable or not. Too bad she just has so little to say.The worst of the modded companion bunch, however, has got to be the Cartographer.

What a massive disappointment.She had promise, an interesting shtick. But her personality just went freakin' NOWHERE. As did her story. I thought at least she'd have something unique to say at many important locations in the game, but surprisingly she didn't. Doubt that would have helped, though.Unbelievably, she was a less interesting version of Piper.
I didn't think it was possible to get less interesting than Piper.
